Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

I had a wheel that needed a new spoke and some adjustment. Hardies helped me out immediately. I had a coffee nearby in this charming town. Cheers from a Norwegian that happened to pass by.
A great little proper bike shop that I didn't even know was there until about a month ago - I was in for a wheel rebuild (2 snapped spokes in my mind requires rebuilding), Hardie's suggested replacing the two broken spokes and see... Would have halved bill and more. Turns out he responded, trued and then 3 more went off in the shop so it did need rebuilt. Short version: they're not trying to do repairs that don't need done, like some (larger) concerns.
